This volume was the best by far. The story really took off with growing mystery and suspense. I decided I liked this book (volumes 1-3) when I got half-way through v3 and didn't want to stop reading. Henty tried something very very different in this set of books and I think it was a good effort. Would I have rather he wrote this style than his other stuff? not on your life. But it was nice to see that he branched out a bit with these books, especially considering that his other works are geared for young men and this was certainly aimed at teenage girls. All in all worth reading if you are willing to wade through the first book. I would not recommend this to someone unfamiliar with Henty as this can not be said to be a prototypical piece of his fiction. But if you won't judge him by these books, or if you are comfortable in your love of Henty as I am that this won't turn you off of him, I would say give these a read.Product details

Great ending to such an atypical Henry novel! Big plus for the digital format.
very well written story
Each page of this three part series adds important detail to the search that is the heart of this story. Henty held my interest through all three volumes of this novel. I could not stop reading. What an incredible story!
Very different from the typical Henty novel. Not written from a teen boys point of view. The narrator is a young woman. This does not deal with major historical events but a simple quest story. Enjoyable.
