Jean Kilczer has done it again. Another tour de force in the life and times of Jules Rammis, the star traveler and soldier of fortune par excellent. In this very fast paced story he goes to another far off place to help his friend Huff, the slattie from Halcyon. And he and all his friends, including his bride Sophia become involved in a civil war, a war that is not so civil, indeed. They are initially involved out of Jules sense of obligation to creatures of the sea that are being decimated by an evil lord of the land. From there Jules is in and out of trouble, in and out of the hands of the evil lord Aburra until the final moments of the book. Several times I thought Jean was winding the book down and was mistaken. In the end you do not know for sure the end is coming.This is an easy read, demands your attention and is hard to put down. Once you start the book you are almost compelled to finish it. I enjoyed it immensely but then I have always liked science fiction tales. Jules, you, and Jean, you have done it again.
